London wheelchair access recommendations

Bathrooms-I mostly used the accessible bathroom in the hotel. The airport bathroom had an excellent backrest. The Roman Baths also had a backrest. The bathroom located by the restaurant at Leeds Castle was wheelchair accessible, but was cold.

Transportation- All of the taxis have ramps and were tall enough for me to stay in my wheelchair. Wheelchairs are free on the bus. We didn‘t use the tube at all, it was pretty expensive and like New York City, only certain stops are wheelchair accessible.

Plays- Like some theaters in New York City, wheelchair accessible tickets are half-price in London.

Lodging- The Marriott County Hall was very accommodating.

Things we did-

Stonehenge was quite boring, but free for wheelchairs!

Bath was wheelchair accessible, though parking was a challenge. The Roman Baths was supposed to have a virtual tour of inaccessible areas, but that was not working! Handheld audio tour guides are included.

It was easy getting into Parliament. We didn’t have to wait in any lines. We were personally escorted through the wheelchair accessible passageway.

Leeds Castle is in Kent, and is very accessible. They have a video for people who can’t tour upstairs.

The London Eye is completely wheelchair accessible and a must-do. Wheelchair riders and their companion are free.

Food- Starbucks, the restaurant at Leeds Castle, Texas Embassy, Pizza Express, ice cream at Harrods…
