The Great Apostacy by James E. Talmage

I continued my exploration of my father's suggested literature with another Talmage classic. I was once again enthralled with Talmage's vocabulary, and found myself doing a little vocabulary expanding work with a dictionary to figure out just exactly what the author was saying. I became even more interested in the history of the Catholic Church, and the writings of Josephus, the recorder of Jewish History during the Dark Ages. Nero and the chapters concerning the inquisition of impossing  Christianity upon the world were particularly interesting, and I read these chapters several times through. Like the other Talmage books, I frequently asked questions to my father, and to Professor Ray Huntington of the Ancient Scripture department at BYU via e-mail. I appreciate the time spent by these great men to explain these complex spiritual concepts, which sparked the curiosity and interest of a young lady. :-) And most importantly, I learned about my responsibility to teach the true Gospel to those less-fortunate than myself, who have not had the privilege to hear this tremendously powerful message of hope and compassion.
