(Romantic Comedy)

Starring: Cary Grant, Myrna Loy, Ray Collins, and Shirley Temple. Director: Irving Reis. Screenplay written by: Sidney Sheldon.

Unexpectedly, one of my Top Picks, so overlook the fact that this is a black and white movie, because it is a scream!

This movie was a riot! Absolutely hilarious! Sidney Sheldon is a genius, who deserved his Oscar for writing. Sheldon had plenty of experience writing for television miniseries like I Dream of Jeanie and Hart to Hart. He also wrote mystery-type novels such as The Sands of Time and Windmills of the Gods. Also, he wrote the musicals, Annie Get Your Gun and Billy Rose's Jumbo. Yet, I still prefer his earlier work. Sheldon's dialogues are classic, especially the following interchange between Cary Grant and Ray Collins:

Matt Beemish: I am the court psychiatrist.

Richard Nugent (Grant): Come back in an hour. I'll be crazy by then.

This interchange is priceless, and Grant provides us with a comic flair that everyone has grown to love. He is such a fox! Furthermore, the scene wherehe is being introduced as the guess speaker for a high school is a scream, because it is quite correct! The whole plot is just so accurate that it becomes hilarious such as  the time where the bobby-sox kid falls for theolder, good-looking man. The story is so predictable at times, but its just so funny the way Susan, played adorably by the young Shirley Temple, keep saying, " You're so right, Dear!" A bit predictable, but yet I still loved it! Susan Turner is the typical high school teenager and "drama queen".

Classic lines! So genuinely engaging that one is bound to watch even a black and white film! Snot-worthy! Phenomenal movie! :-)
