Top Pick, Given an A by Nicole Kent
(1968)
Starring: Peter O'Toole and Katherine Hepburn
A period movie capturing English history with Eleanor of Aquitaine, who insists: "What family doesn't have its own set of problems!" Yes, Eleanor, but my mother still has not slept with my father's father. Hepburn is a great actress, and O'Toole is phenomenal. The chemistry these actors have is remarkable. The scene where the couple has their famous fight is hilarious; their quick-witted banter is memorable. I love the costumes, and ever since I finished reading the Sharon K. Penman series, I have become extremely interested in the twisted family relationship of Eleanor/Henry/Richard/John. I enjoyed learning more about this royal family.
