Starring: Charlie Hunnan, Jamie Belt, and
Christopher Plummer
This movie was a little boring, but at lease it sparked my interest to read the book. Christopher Plummer played the villain quite well. I was greatly disappointed by the character of Spike, whom the movie changed into this warm and fuzzy cripple that teaches Nicholas to value his own life. The book makes this character more realistic! I also missed the mother from the book -- the clueless silly mother who believed everyone was madly in love with her. Of course, the producers added all of this unrealistic romantic dialogue to appease a modern audience. I did not a buy into these fabricated scenes. However, this film did have enormous potential to be a great picture!
