An Affair to Remember

(1957)

Starring: Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr

I found this movie a little slow and difficult to relate to the characters at first, but then I became enchanted with Deborah Kerr's singing voice as she sang the memorable theme song while visiting the leading actor's sick grandmother.  I continued loving Kerr's voice when she sings with the children who she is coaching for a Christmas program.

And that final scene where Cary Grant comes to visit Deborah Kerr, a woman who he thinks has dissed him, but in reality she is  paralyzed not wanting to let him know, is pure torture  for me to watch. I just wanted to scream at Cary Grant when he is about to leave without realizing that she, his love, is not able to run to him and throw her arms around him. Finally,  he realizes the truth. I was a little disappointed with the ending, but good movie! :-)
