Starring: Marilyn Monroe, Yves Montand, and Tony Randall. Director: George Cuko.
My sister, Krissy, adores Marilyn Monroe movies, and has quite the collection of Marilyn Monroe classics. So I have had the privilege to watch this delightful musical. Amanda Bell and Jean-Marc Clement are an exciting couple with passion and intensity. Marilyn Monroe and Yves Montand have chemistry. And we cannot forget Alexander Coffman or can we? Because Tony Randall gives a mediocre performance as a lousy singer. I would have enjoyed this role if it had been used more as a comic relief figure. The stage writers needed to make the Alexander Coffman character appear more idiotic. The audience must not feel sorry for this character in the end. I still, love the Jean-Marc character, and this romantic story is cleverly written with some cute music, and some classic scenes. Cute movie! :-)
