(1939)
Starring: Charles Boyer and Irene Dunne
Well, I watched this movie to compare it with its colored remake, An Affair to Remember. I really enjoyed this black-and-white version so much more. There was so much edited from Terry and Edward's conversations to make the film more romantic. I appreciated the realism portrayed in this version. I missed Deborah Kerr's gorgeous voice; her singing almost brought tears to my eyes. I just love this movie. Black-and-white or color -- it does not matter -- I simply adore the romantic plot. It does not matter who is acting. You just want to scream at that final scene when Charles
Boyer is about to walk out the door away from his disabled girlfriend. The empathy viewer feels for Terry is remarkable, and timeless whether it be 1939 or 1960 or even 1995. Great movie! :-)
