The Robe (1953)

This movie was extraordinary! Absolutely inspiring, I thought it was going to be some overly-spiritual fluff, preaching to me about the assets of the Bible. (Not that there's anything wrong with learning about the Bible!) I was pleasantly surprised to find a very romantic story about a woman staying by her man's side even to the death.

I loved this plot, and how it was related to the crucifixion

of Christ. The scene where Richard Burton is having a discussion with Mariam, a cripple about why Christ did not heal her if they were such good friends. She replied that she believed her purpose was to teach others by example, and this really struck me because this is my purpose, I do believe. It was a very special moment for me, and it just made the movie more understandable and moving. Outstanding movie! :-)
